We at Charlie_Tu_Eats get chestnut mounds of emails each day suggesting we try certain foods, restaurants, drinks or accept Jesus as our Savior. This week a gmail-er suggested we try something called Pet Milk:
Homo say wha? Charlie has never heard of Pet Milk and thinks it may just be a faux baking liquid from the Depression Era, not something remotely beverage-able.. G-mailer’s evidence:
If you have any idear what this is, please help.

Pet Milk is condensed milk, no more no less, called by its brand name. Where I grew up, condensed milk was something you used in making pumpkin pies and scalloped potatoes — and my gram only used Carnation brand.
The first time I encountered “Pet Milk” was when my grandmother-in-law died. My husband and father-in-law abandoned me with my poor, grieving grandfather-in-law, whom I’d never met before, with some lame excuse that they had to get something fixed on the car. (Let’s hear it for guys who can’t handle emotions.) I was left, first thing in the morning, with Pop playing host and making me coffee, telling me about his wife and how he’d miss her.
After informing me that I’d just spent the night in the bed she died in the day before, he asked if I wanted “Pet milk” or regular milk in my coffee. wtf? Tearing my mind away from wondering and hoping that the sheets had been changed, I glanced around hoping I wasn’t going to see a cat that looked as if it had just given birth. Words cannot express my relief when he started pouring condensed milk from a can exactly like the one in your photo above into his coffee.
After that, being formally introduced to the dearly departed at the funeral home was a piece of cake.
